The Postgraduate International Educating Class's (PIEC) underlying principles are UNESCO's Four Pillars of Education:
Learning to Know
Rather than focus on the acquisition of mere structured knowledge, we zoom in on the mastery of learning tools. Our aim is for you not only to learn data, but to learn how to learn effectively and continuously.
Learning to Do
We believe that education is at the service of the individual person and the community. We recognize and cherish both our students' common aspirations and their interpersonal differences. We do not see uniformity as the best means to create a community. To the contrary, we want the PIEC to reflect the ideal of a world that respects individual values and constructive choices, while caring for the needs of the common good.
Learning to Live Together
Our philosophy embraces a collaborative and empowering view on education. To reach yet unknown levels of world cooperation, well-being, integration, and peace, we must increasingly employ collaborative and affirmative teaching methods.
Learning to Be
Our approach is both rooted in the present ánd future-oriented. We envisage solution-oriented effectiveness in dealing with the challenges at hand as well as inventiveness in engineering the future. This includes the promotion of an open spirit and an inquisitive mind reaching beyond the established social borders worldwide.
