3D-Head
The second bachelor year is all about ‘making stuff work’ and this is reflected in the Engineering Experiences. With Fischer Technic, the students need to work as a team to build a device that actually works. After some heavy brainstorming, the nine-member team of the ‘Elite Robotics’ group decided to build a 3D-scanner. This 3D-scanner can scan a human head, and through a custom made computer program (Labview) this head will simultaneously appear on the computer screen.
Engineering ánd entreprising
While seven Belgian students worked on the scanning robot, two Chinese students took care of the enterprising tasks. Indeed, Engineering Experiences aren’t just about engineering, but also about cost management, presentation skills and teamwork. For instance, the cost of the material, the infrastructure and the overhead must remain as low as possible. This way these experiences reflect the multi-facetted every day practice of the engineer.
